Beyond the Classroom presents "Not Without Us!" which follows seven multi-generational, grassroots activists from around the world as they head to Paris for the 21st session of United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as the COP 21. Building on the momentum of the People's Climate March in New York in 2014, the Paris mobilizations in December 2015 were slated to be civil societies largest show of force yet. Activists, especially those on the frontline, wanted world leaders to feel the pressure. After two decades of failed climate negotiations - from Kyoto to Copenhagen to Cancun - the agreement to confront catastrophic climate change needed to be comprehensive, legally binding, and fair.

"THE UNAFRAID," a feature length documentary that follows the personal lives of three DACA students in Georgia, a state that has banned them from attending their top state universities and disqualifies them from receiving in-state tuition at any other public college. Shot in an observational style over a period of four years, this film takes an intimate look at the lives of Alejandro, Silvia and Aldo as they navigate activism, pursuing their right to education, and fighting for the rights of their families and communities. This film shows us what it means to grow up both American and undocumented in the United States. Opening remarks will be offered by President Wallace Loh
Following the screening, will be a panel discussion on the documentary and what it means to be a DACA student at the University of Maryland with special guest speakers to be announced.
