Meet Our New Faculty
Dr. Diana Marsh is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian’s National Anthropological Archives (NAA). Her work focuses on how changing technologies, cultures, and values affect the communication of knowledge in heritage institutions. Her current research focuses on access to anthropological archives and the circulation of digitized ethnographic collections in Native communities. She is currently teaching the Introduction to Museum Scholarship class.
Meet a Current Student
K. Sarah Ostrach is a bi-coastal American, growing up in both California and Maryland. She received her BA in art history and Hispanic studies and her MA in East Asian Art History. Before beginning her MLIS at UMD, K. Sarah taught English language, academic writing, and digital literacy skills both in the U.S. and in China. K. Sarah is currently a Library Technician and Research Assistant with the National Gallery of Art Library in the Department of Image Collections. Her primary project is processing over 3000 photographs of painting and calligraphy from the National Palace Museum, Taipei.
Join Our Fall Field Trip
Once a semester, the MSMC program will be visiting a museum or gallery in the area as a group. This is an opportunity to discuss professional practice and experience museums together. This semester, we are going toHillwood Museumon December 6 at 2pm. Sign up here by November 27th.
